Fred Muenster's Obituary
Fred Muenster, 70 of San Antonio, TX left this life at his home on Thursday, September 27, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on September 2, 1948, at home to the late Delmar George and Thelma (Moravitz) Muenster. He graduated from East Central High School in 1966, where he was an outstanding football player receiving all-district, all-city and all-state honors. He served 4 years in the United States Navy including a tour aboard the USS Cacapon (AO-52) during the Vietnam War. He worked various jobs during his life as an electrician, general construction trades teacher, and owned a home repair business. Fred married his high school sweetheart, Donnie (Krieger) on June 22, 1968. He was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and pigeon fancier. He loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren, teaching them to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Donnie Muenster; sons, Dr. Matthew Muenster (Chandra) of Grapevine, TX, and Lucas Muenster (Julie) of La Vernia, TX; daughter, Erin Ezzell (Lee) of Frisco, TX; nine grandchildren, Hollis, Marina, Sabrina, Major, Heaven, Anthony, Emma, Eli, and Hannah; sisters, Bette Sumner of Adkins, TX, Annie Dennis of Sayre, OK; and Shirley Chatham of Broaddus, TX; brother, Robert Muenster of Adkins, TX; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Funeral arrangements provided by Alamo Brooks Funeral Home, 3706 South WW White Road, San Antonio, TX 78222. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the La Vernia Church of Christ, 131 Industrial Drive, La Vernia, TX, 78121 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Cover Cemetery, 7709 New Sulphur Springs Road, San Antonio, TX 78263. Flowers may be sent to La Vernia Church of Christ or donations may be made to the Scottish Rite.
