Evangeline Guerrero's Obituary
Evangeline Guerrero, of Poteet, went peacefully to be with our Lord on September 8, 2022, at the age of 78 years. Evangeline was born September 10, 1943, to Estanislado and Juanita Reyes. Evangeline went to work for USAA after graduating from Poteet High School and slowly, but surely, made her way to management before retiring after 25 years with the company. After tragically losing their daughter, Susan, Evangeline and John adopted and raised their grand-daughter as their daughter. Evangeline loved crafts, crocheting and gardening until she was no longer able to do. Evangeline will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Evangeline is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Guerrero; her daughter Susan Guerrero; siblings; Benito Reyes, EG Reyes Jr. and Rudy Reyes. Evangeline is survived by her son Brian (Rosalinda) Guerrero; daughter/grand-daughter Victoria (Jose) Sanchez; siblings Virginia Martinez, Eligio (Rosemary) Reyes, Joe (Isabel) Reyes, Tony (Patricia) Reyes, Johnny (Olivia) Reyes; and sister-in-law Mary Reyes; grandchildren Noah Guerrero and Stacy Guerrero; great-grandchild Josiah Sanchez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends will gather on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 274 Ave. H., Poteet, Texas 78065. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church.
