Espiridion G. Trevino's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Espiridion G. Trevino (“Speedy”) entered into eternal rest at the age of 68 on Sunday, November 21st in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in El Potrero Nuevo Leon, Mexico on December 14th 1952 to loving parents Indalecio Trevino Escobedo and Guadalupe Trevino Gomez.
Speedy lived most of his life in Atascosa, TX. If you heard the name “Speedy” you knew exactly who that was, he was like an icon. Speedy was the kind of person that would command a room anywhere he went. In his younger days, he was always laughing, singing, and dancing. He was known to stand up and start singing no matter the venue; a restaurant, a party, or a family gathering. He especially enjoyed singing to those he loved, always calling his loved ones to deliver a resounding and heartfelt “Happy Birthday” song. His favorite songs were “Amor De Los Dos”, “Malidito Amor”, Before the Next Teardrop Falls, and he enjoyed music by Country Roland. Speedy had a passion for singing, and he had a voice like no other. Speedy was a tremendous dancer. He was light on his feet and made dancing look easy. As he grew older, he loved to sit under his shade tree, and welcomed anyone who would come to sit and pass the time with him. Speedy loved to tell stories in his own unique way that kept you interested until the very end. He dressed cowboy style, always wearing his George Strait cowboy hat.
Speedy was a dedicated worker, never complaining about hard work or long hours. He always worked hard to provide for his family. He was a foreman for many years at Aldridge Nursery here in Von Ormy and prior to that at Knowlton’s Dairy. He also worked for the Atascosa Water Company and after many years of hard work, he retired to his shade tree. Speedy had a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone in need and never expecting anything in return. He will always be remembered for the many lives he touched along his journey here on earth.
Speedy’s shining light will forever be in the hearts of his adoring family. He is preceded in death by his father Indalecio Trevino Escobedo, brother Luis Carlos Trevino, and nephew Guadalupe Trevino Jr. He is survived by his mother Guadalupe Trevino Gomez. Brothers: Reynaldo Trevino, Juan Antonio Trevino (Teresa), and Guadalupe Trevino (Yessica). Sisters: Paula Flores Trevino (Hector), Olinda Dominguez Trevino (Carlos), Maria Elena Alarcon Trevino (Joel), Julia Cantu (Esequiel), Rosa Maria Tristan Trevino (Alfredo).
