Esperanza O. Rodriguez's Obituary
Esperanza “Hope” Rodriguez was born in Cameron, Texas on August 1, 1939, but resided in Von Ormy, Texas. She entered Heaven’s gates on October 12, 2017.
A wonderful mother, daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, aunt and homemaker. Esperanza, loved to read her Bible, share God’s Word with family and friends. She enjoyed each moment spent with her children and grandchildren who will forever cherish and miss her, until we all meet again.
Esperanza had an unwavering faith in God and enjoyed praising the Lord while a member of Lion of Judah Christian Church, Pastor’s Jerry & Norma Ruelas on the Southside of San Antonio.
Esperanza was preceded in death by her loving parents, Demetrio Orta and Herlinda Orta, and son Kenneth Smith. Esperanza is survived by her husband Joe M. Rodriguez, daughter Patricia Romero (Pedro Villaneuva), son Rickey Smith (Glenda), daughter Barbara Salazar (Alvino Cardona), son Seledonio Vela, Jr., daughter Christina Fay Smith, daughter Emily Panagopoulos (George) as well as many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.
She is survived by her siblings; sister Shiela Valdez (Domingo), brother Andy Orta (Becky), sister Josie Rodriguez (Martin), brother Julian Orta (Beatrice), sister Mary Puentes (Cecil) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive all friends to celebrate her life on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 10:00 a.m. Camero Funeral Home.
