Enrique A. Garcia's Obituary
Enrique Alvarado Garcia, 85, returned to his heavenly home on September 6th, 2017, after a valiant battle with liver cancer. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in god supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Enrique was born January 8th, 1932 to his late parents Jose Garcia and Felicita Alvarado Garcia, in Lulling, Texas shortly after his family moved to Poteet, Texas and early on he was immersed in the farming and ranching lifestyle and continued to plant, grow, and produce an abundance of fruits, and vegetables and with a heart of gold shared his crop with any and all who visited "the ranch". Not only did he plant seed in the earth, he also planted his values, his beliefs, and his knowledge in the minds and hearts of his children and grandchildren. He began work for Atascosa county precinct 7 in 1967 and retired after 28 yrs of service.
On June 14th, 1953 he married the love of his life Carmen Hernandez, and was blessed with 4 children and is survived by them, Raul Hernandez Garcia, Lydia Rivera and Husband Roger Rivera, Mary Carmen Garcia- Steele and husband Kenneth Steele and Leroy Anthony Garcia. He was additionally blessed with 7 grand children, John Henry Luebano, Cindy Rivera Pena, Kathy Rivera, Veronica Garcia, Kevin Garcia, Jennifer Lindsey Miller, and James Dalton Steele, as well as 4 Great Grandchildren, Anthony Luebano, Austin Luebano, Wyatt Raul Garcia, and Leighton June Miller. To him all his children were pretty... pretty ugly jokingly of course.

Margie Gomez and Albert Gomez, as well as his departed brother Joe Garcia and surviving wife Amelia Garcia's children Bonita Garcia Silvas, Maria Olivia Garcia Aguilar, and little Joe Garcia, teaching and showing them the same love and admiration that his own children knew. Enrique was a champion of his community well known and well liked he was Compadre to most who knew him, and by his friends he was called Henry, or Little Joe, by his family he was lovingly called Pimpa, Pa Henry, and Uncle Rick.
