Elena Acevedo's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Elena Acevedo, who departed peacefully at her home on September 30th, 2024. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt who will be greatly missed by her loving family and close friends. Elena was born January 23, 1945, to Joaquin Acevedo and Julia Fierros in a small village of Ameca, Zacatecas, Mexico.
She will be missed and cherished by her four daughters, Dora Martinez (Lameir), Sarah Garza (Angel), Suzy Martinez and Julia Poo (Jorge). Mom loved her grandchildren with all her heart, always telling them “te quero mucho, muncho, muncho”, Lamont and Lamya Teamer, Milagros, Serafina and Adonias Garza, and Camila and Blake Poe. Elena cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, she loved going to the senior center making new friends, cooking, and crocheting. Her home was not just a place of gathering but a sanctuary of love, laughter, and delicious food. Our mother will be missed by her brothers and sisters Dolores Juarez, Gaspar Acevedo, Socorro De Luna, Adelina Garza, Simon Acevedo and Veneranda Chavez. Elena was beloved by many nieces, nephews and friends she made throughout her life.
Services will be held at Camaro Funeral Home, Monday, October 14th, 2024 visitation 3pm-8pm with remembrance and rosary at 6pm. Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 visitation 9am-12pm with chapel services 11am. Interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
