Edward (Ed) Gerald Lee's Obituary
Edward (Ed) Gerald Lee, age 88, passed away in his home on January 1, 2023. He was born Aug. 13, 1934 in Miami, Oklahoma.
In 1960, Ed married the love of his life, Kathryn (Kaye), and they celebrated 57 years together before she passed away in 2017.
Ed is preceded in death by his wife Kaye, his father, Gerald Edward Lee, mother, Irene Stephens, son Jerry Kent and son-in-law Timothy Thomas. He is survived by children: Kathy Thomas, Carolyn Hoyt (Steve), Gary Kent (Joanne) and David Lee in addition to 5 grandchildren: Jennifer Ball, Tyson Thomas (Shari), Dana McDonald (Shawn), Denise Miller (Bryan) and Scott Thomas (Lindsey) along with great-grandchildren: Blake Miller (Jourdin), Weston McDonald, Shelby McDonald, Brooke Miller, Brayden Thomas, Journey Bain, Tanner Thomas, and Kaydence Thomas & 1 great-great grandchild Ryder Miller and special friend, Betty.
Ed served 28 years in the Air Force retiring as SMSGT. He served in Thailand for 1 year during the Vietnam war. Ed was also stationed in Iceland, Greece and several states in the U.S. He worked mainly in the medical field and finished his time at the School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks A.F.B., San Antonio, TX.
After retirement Ed and Kaye moved to Miami, OK where they had met as teenagers and after several years there became full time RV’rs for almost 15 years. They traveled all across the country and made many friends before settling in Adkins, TX near family.
He was a very loving man and will be missed by family and friends.
Services will be held at Resurrection United Methodist Church Saturday Jan. 14th 11-1, 7709 Knowlton Rd. S.A. Interment pending at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery .
