Donald Jackson Minner's Obituary
Donald Jackson Minner was born on March 17, 1951 in Sikeston, Missouri to Delberta Ruth Fauller and Richard Minner. He grew up in St. Louis with his sister Twila Ann Minner and his brother David Paul Minner.
As a young man, he joined the Army and proudly served as a medic in the Vietnam War. It is during this time in which he would unknowingly begin his long battle as a disabled veteran.
Upon returning from Vietnam, he married Esther Carreon and they started a life together in San Antonio, Texas. They had 4 children; Julie Taylor, Rebecca Sanchez, Donna Minner and Darrell Minner which they raised in Poteet, Texas. Donald Minner was an ordained minister and spent his life sharing the compassion and love of God to those around him. He was well known for his love of fishing, playing the guitar, boxing and practical jokes.
After a long battle with various illnesses, Donald went to be with the lord on April 12, 2017. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Donald is survived by his wife of 48 years Esther Minner, 4 children Julie Taylor and her husband Terrance, Rebecca Sanchez, Donna Minner and his son Darrell Minner and his wife Sarah, 9 grandchildren Joy Sanchez, Juliana Cleland and her husband Caleb, Faith Sanchez, Lauryn Taylor, Aaron Sanchez, TJ Taylor, Sara Taylor, Emberlynn Minner, Isabella Minner and 1 great grandson Jonathan Cleland, his mother Delberta Ruth Minner, sister Twila Ann Way, brother David Paul Minner and his wife Mimi, Nieces Kellie Turnbough and her husband Skip, Shawn Sapp and her husband Mike, Shannon Hollemeyer and her husband Tim, Dana Forbes and her husband Dan, his nephews David Minner and his wife Lindsey, Jonathan Minner and many other great nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at Camero Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 18th from 7-9 and burial Wednesday, April 19th at 10 am.
