David "Botas" Martinez's Obituary
It is with great love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of David "Botas" Martinez (87) David passed away on November 11, 2022, in Poteet, Texas surrounded by his loved ones. David was born on September 25, 1935 in Atascosa to Pedro Martinez and Mauricia Camarillo Martinez-Ramos. David worked for the county of Atascosa as a foreman in precincts 1 and 3. He worked for the county from 1988 – 2013 when he happily retired. The family would like to thank Four-Seasons Hospice for the excellent care provided to Mr. Martinez in his final days. A special thanks to Veronica, Heather, Leslie, Rocio, Hope and Bonita of Four Seasons for their excellent care and comfort. The family would also like to thank Leticia Hermosillo, Lupe Ovalle, and Rosie Garcia for being great caregivers and for the countless hours they gave caring for Mr. Martinez.
Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his parents; Pedro and Mauricia Martinez, maternal grandparents; Manuel and Guadalupe Morales Camarillo, paternal grandparents; Brigido and Elvira Martinez, and brother; Timoteo Ramos. Mr. Martinez is survived by his wife of 65 years; Rose Ann Martinez daughters; Jo Ann (Evaristo) Flores, Brenda (Richard) Guzman, and Roxanne (Pete) Navarro. Mr. Martinez is also survived by his grandchildren; Danielle Lopez (Alex Esparza), David (Brandie) Guzman, Matthew (Desiree) Lopez, Anisya Navarro, Madelyn Navarro, and Elijah Navarro, Great Grandchildren; Ramsie, Scottlyn and Dax Guzman, Wade and Adalee Lopez, Pallbearers; Richard Guzman, David Guzman, Evaristo Flores, Matthew Lopez, Pete Navarro, and Alex Esparza, Honorary Pallbearers; Elijah Navarro, Dax Guzman, and Wade Lopez.
Services to begin Monday, November 21, 2022 with visitation beginning at 3:00 P.M. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. A rosary service will be held Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. Services to continue the following day, November 22, with a funeral mass starting at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Poteet, Texas
