Damian Delgado Sr.'s Obituary
DAMIAN DELGADO, POTEET – Damian Delgado, Sr. went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2025, at the age of 74, and now rests in his eternal home. He was preceded in death by his father, Marcos Delgado Lopez, his mother, Laura Delgado, and his brothers, Pedro Delgado, Ruben Delgado and Hector Delgado.
Although Damian was a retired certified welder and mechanic, his work experience also included working with heavy machinery operation in Mexico and in the United States. Through his hard labor, Damian contributed to the construction of hospitals, highways, and bridges throughout Texas. When not working, Damian enjoyed going fishing, cooking out and making menudo for his family. He had a love for the farm life and enjoyed caring for his many farm animals—especially his Santa Gertrudis bull named “Cuate”! He loved spending time with family, friends, and his brothers and sisters in Christ. But what he enjoyed most of all, was bringing people to Christ and sharing the Word with friends and family. One of his favorite mottos was, “There is nothing in life you cannot achieve, everything in this world is man-made, and with God all things in this life can be conquered.”
Damian was a loving father and grandfather who took pride in his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Damian is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rosa Elia Delgado, his brother Rodolfo, sisters Carmela, Otilia, Juana, Clara, and Emelia Delgado, and his children Valente (Excelsa) Delgado, Rosario (Juan Francisco) Garcia, Maria Guadalupe (Maximino) Briones, Carlos Cazares, Jesus (Rosie) Cazares Sr., Rosa (Javier) Berrones, Laura Delgado, Nancy Delgado, Damian (Virginia) Delgado Jr, Elizabeth Delgado; 23 grandchildren and 9-great-grandchildren.
