Catherine S. Martinez's Obituary
Catherine S. Martinez, was reunited with our Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 84 years old. She was born on June 12, 1941 in Poteet, Texas, to her parents Carlos and Modesta Soliz. Catherine had a few hobbies throughout her life which included reading, singing, and to dance. She was known to be a good pool player. She also loved to travel and going to the casinos. She is survived by her seven children: Jerry S. Martinez (Maria), Sylvia Zgonce (Norm), Debora Martinez (Diana Gomez), Elizabeth Bowler (Bill), Roland S. Trevino (Dolores), Lee Anthony Martinez Jr., and Harley C. Martinez; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, sister Alicia Reyes, sister-in-law Anna Soliz, and daughter-in-law Diana Martinez, also numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Carlos and Modesta Soliz, two sons Jonny S. Martinez and Lee Anthony Martinez, siblings Jesse Soliz, Raul B. Soliz, Alcario Soliz, and Amelia Soriano, beloved dog Charlie.
A visitation will be held at Southside Funeral Home on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, we will depart from Southside Funeral Home at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church. Interment to follow to First Memorial Park Cemetery.
