Arnulfo Rivas Castro Jr.'s Obituary
Arnulfo Rivas Castro Jr., 74, passed away on Wednesday May 25, 2022.
Arnulfo was born on August 2, 1947 in San Antonio, Tx, where he lived for the remainder of his life.
At the age of 15, Arnulfo began working as a auto body painter simply sanding down cars. By the time he was 19, Arnulfo had become shop manager, honing his skills over the previous 4 years and showing a high aptitude for painting. Arnulfo carried out his career in auto-body & paint industry for over 35 years before retiring. He made his work his art form. On October 3rd, 1964, Arnulfo and his wife Delma got married, to which they remained married for 57 years. Arnulfo and Delma went on to have four children, Catherine Casias, Brenda Castro, Steve Castro, and Joe Angel Castro. Durning his life, Arnulfo loved to dance, socialize, play pool, go fishing, attend sporting events and while he was young spend time at the old downtown YMCA swimming. He was a man who revered his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren & even great grandchildren. Arnulfo was a lot of things to a lot of people throughout the course of his life: friend, confidant, Tio, Pepo, Dad, Grandpa, Welo, Amore, Tank, Arnold & the list goes on. He wasn’t the type of man to make a promise to you in the evening only to break it at dawn, his word was his bond. Arnulfo was predeceased by his mother Maria Isabel Rivas Mena, his father Arnulfo Castro, Sr., his siblings Alfred Castro & Helen Duran, his granddaughters Mia and Mya Castro, and his great grandsons Ethan Garcia and Steve Castro III. He is survived by his wife Delma Castro and his children Catherine and husband Mike Casias, Brenda Castro, Steve Castro, and Joe Angel and wife Jutan Castro. His grandchildren Kimberly, Maria, Ramiro and wife Sabrina, Sarah and husband Alberto, Miguel and wife Crystal, Adrian, Nikki and husband Hector, Christine and husband Julian, Carlos Barron Jr., Amanda, Steve Castro jr. and wife Samantha, Sabrina, Elijah, Jeremiah & Madalyn (Mother-Stephanie Castro), Chandler, Mason, Myan, Mina, Julian, Jael, and Jace. His great grandchildren Sabastian, Benjamin, Ayden, Maverick, Shia, Robert Adame Jr., Miguel, Massiah, Zayde, Malekith, Victor Casias, Brianna, Aiden, Jacob, Nathanyel, Arianna, Aubriella, Isaiah, Chydell, Eden, Nora, Harmony, Chris, Victor Del-Valle, Maribel, Audrey, Jazalyn, Heaven, Isaiah, Faith, Journey, Zack, Jaylina, Joselyn. Siblings Norma & Danny Rodriguez, Mary Lou & Gonzalo Gonzalez, Mercy & Sam Carvajal, Robert Castro, Raul and Mary Mena, and sister-in-law Carmen Castro. Childhood friend and brother-in-law Clemente De la Rosa.
The Viewing with be held at Camero Funeral Home - Von Ormy, Tx on June 9, 2022 from 4pm - 9pm with the Rosary beginning at 7 pm. On June 10, 2022 at 9:30 am, Mass with be held at St. Leo’s The Great Catholic Church and followed by the burial at San JoseBurial Park. A Home Going in remembrance of his life will be held at American Legion Post 485, 431 Kendalia Ave., SATX, 78214 from 12:30 pm to 4 pm. The family is hosting a potluck, it would be a blessing for you to join us, please feel free to contribute in any manner that you wish.
