Antonio M. Ruiz's Obituary
Antonio M. Ruiz, 71 of San Antonio, passed away on December 13, 2017.
Visitation will be December 19th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Camero Funeral Home with a short prayer session afterwards.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on December 20th at Camero Funeral Home with burial at First Park Memorial at the same location.
Antonio was born in San Antonio to Antonio G. Ruiz and Carmen Mendoza Ruiz on September 3rd 1946. He attended Southside High School in San Antonio and joined the National Guard after graduation. He married Herminia C. Ruiz in San Antonio and later divorced after 16 years of marriage. He worked as a book keeper with Wilco Peanut Company and after many years of service retired as a Vice-President with the company. In his later years, he resumed work as a painter/contractor with Rangel Painting and had just recently retired in October of 2017. Among his hobbies were managing a very successful softball team during the 70’s and 80’s and made many lifelong friends doing what he loved.
Antonio is preceded in death by his son Matthew Ray Ruiz.
He is survived by his children Edward J. Ruiz, Michael A. Ruiz and Daniel J. Ruiz; brothers Ernest Ruiz, Robert Ruiz and Raul Ruiz; sister Beatrice Ruiz, Yolanda Wilbur, Olga Gonzales and Sylvia Ruiz Mendelsohn; grandchildren Amanda Ruiz, Samantha Ruiz, Nathan Ruiz, Alyxandra Ruiz, Aidan Ruiz and Jesse Ruiz; great grandchild Kenneth Ross.
